Shabbat. What is so special about Shabbat at Camp?

The FOOD! You can feel it’s Shabbat when you walk into the dining room and smell the challah coming out of the oven on Friday Morning. You know it’s a very special day of the week at camp because everyone is dressed up like it’s a holiday typically wearing white and looking their best.

Our hand rolled fluffy matzo balls in the scratch made chicken soup is the first course quickly scarfed up with warm challah for dipping. Oven Roasted Chicken with aromatic spices like garlic and paprika make up the golden crust that covers the juicy meat below. Yummy mashed potatoes and honey glazed carrots complete a well-balanced meal , but make sure to save room for dessert because it’s homemade chocolate babka or strawberry shortcake and this stuff is good!

What is so special about Shabbat at camp you say? Well we hope to see you next summer and share what we feel makes it special for us.
